It started as a change in process chemisty, but new inks began to create significant issues for compliance under an existing wastewater discharge permit.
Aquarius Environmental was tasked with selection, design, permitting and construction management of a new wastewater treatment system.
The Aquarius Environmental team guided the client through the challenging process of selecting a solution that would meet effluent requirements, budget and space constraints.
Convention precipitation technologies were evaluated, but ruled out due to excess footprint and operating costs. An Electrocoagulation system was selected based on its small footprint, low operating costs and high quality effluent.
Following bench testing, an engineering report was submitted and approved by King County Metro. Bid documents were prepared, contract award and construction proceeded.
Aquarius Environmental project engineers provided construction support for permits, inspection and design revisions to adapt to complicated field conditions.
The project was installed on schedule and over $200,000 less than preliminary cost projections.
